The actor isn’t mainly known for his BJJ career but is famous for portraying tough characters in countless action movies like the Transporter Trilogy, The Expendables, and the Fast & Furious franchise.

Nevertheless, Jason started training martial arts like kickboxing and karate at a young age. He regularly shows off his athleticism, athletic body, and martial arts skills in his movie roles.

Jason is a serious BJJ athlete who trains Jiu Jitsu regularly and has been doing so for more than 20 years now.

According to Jason himself he started training Jiu Jitsu in 2002 in a garage together with his friend Guy Ritchie prior to joining Renzo Gracie’s Academy.

Since Jason started training BJJ in 2002 he was 35 years old when he began his Jiu Jitsu journey.

2023 will be Jason’s 22nd year of training BJJ. Therefore, he is a seasoned martial artist and advanced Jiu Jitsu practitioner.

Jason has not earned his Black Belt in BJJ so far. He is most likely still a Purple Belt. Nevertheless, we are confident that he is on the right track to become a BJJ Black Belt one day.

Jason’s original coach is Renzo Gracie from Renzo Gracie Academy in New York. However, he has also been training at Roger Gracie Academy in London.

Jason most likely doesn’t compete in BJJ as there is no competition footage available. The actor has to make sure not to get hurt to be ready to take on movie roles.

Jason has experience in karate and kickboxing as he trained both martial arts at a young age. Later in his life, at the age of 35, he picked up Brazilian Jiu Jitsu which he has trained for more than 20 years now.

The reason why I train Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is that my face won’t get hurt as there is not a lot of contact with my face, so my face won’t have bruises and any kind of damage which is very important for my profession.
