Jim Carrey is rumored to be a BJJ Brown Belt under Royce Gracie, but no one knows if it is true. We could imagine Jim enjoying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but unfortunately, there’s no evidence.
The Canadian and American actor, comedian, and artist is famous for iconic roles in The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, The Grinch, and Bruce Almighty.

Are the Rumors about Jim Carrey Training BJJ True?
We did some digging, but it is very hard to find any evidence of Jim Carrey training Jiu Jitsu. At this point, we are very curious about the source of the rumors in the first place.
Wikipedia has no entry on Jim Carrey training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at all.
The only “evidence” is a post on the Sherdog MMA Forum that can not be verified and states:
“I actually met [Jim Carrey] once at Jorge Gurgel’s MMA and Fitness Academy, he isn’t as funny as he is in the movies though.”
From a lack of evidence, we can only assume that Jim Carrey is not a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Jim Carrey BJJ Footage on Social Media
Unfortunately, Jim Carrey declared to leave all social media for good in 2022.
Since there has been no footage of Jim Carrey training or competing in BJJ on the Internet up to this point, the probability of training footage making its way to us is rather low.
