Keanu seems to train Jiu Jitsu as well as other martial arts inconsistently as he uses martial arts training to prepare for his roles in action movies.

The actor started training BJJ in 2014 when he was preparing for the movie John Wick which includes countless combat scenes.

Since Keanu started training BJJ in 2014 he was about 50 years old when he began his Jiu Jitsu training journey.

2023 would be Keanu’s 10th year of training BJJ if he trained consistently. 10 years of training would make him a seasoned martial artist and knowledgeable Jiu Jitsu practitioner.

Keanu is far from earning his Black Belt in BJJ as he is most likely still a White Belt.

Keanu has not earned a Black Belt in any martial art so far. However, he was granted an honorary Judo Black Belt after preparing for John Wick. Martial arts mastery in not his main objective.

Keanu’s coaches are the Machado brothers, and he mainly trains under John Machado. Their schools are located in California and Texas.

Keanu most likely doesn’t compete in BJJ as there is no competition footage available. The actor must make sure not to get hurt which would decrement his acting career.

The actor has experience in BJJ, Judo, Karate and Krav Maga. He did not pick up Jiu Jitsu until he was 50 years old.

In preparation for playing John Wick Keanu trained martial arts (BJJ and Judo) for 2 hours per day, every day. The actor does not lack dedication.
